Limited Funding Available for Professional Development for Bryan School Master’s & Graduate Certificate Program Students

The Bryan School has a limited amount of funds available for the 2013-2014 academic year to support professional development activities for all Bryan School Master’s and Graduate Certificate Program students.  The funds can be used to support attendance at conferences/workshops/seminars in your career field or industry, graduate student specific conferences (including career fairs), or courses/seminars for professional certifications. Your professional development activity must be completed by Friday, May 9th, 2014 to expedite the funding process. For a sample list of professional associations that you might want to consider for upcoming conferences/events/certifications, search CareerBeam – login to your CareerBeam account, go to Research Tools, select Business Information Resources, and search under Associations.  To request a CareerBeam account, send an email to


If you would like to be considered for funding for professional development activities during Spring 2014, please complete this application and email it to Bret Althiser at bwalthis@uncg.eduThe applications are due by Friday, February 21st, 2014Each student must submit an individual application, and only one application per student is allowed.  Please type your responses directly onto the form.


You must be enrolled in your graduate program and be in good standing during the academic year in which the funds are requested and during the time in which the professional development activity takes place.  Activities must take place within the United States (local, regional, state, or national conferences/events).  Also, please note that this is one time funding for a specific professional certification, conference, or event.  This is not for monthly attendance at local professional association meetings.

Funding is limited and unlikely to fund all applicants.  If you are selected, the Bryan School may not be able to completely fund your requested activity.  If you are selected for funding, we will contact you. Please note that students selected will need to pay up front for their requested activities and will be reimbursed up to a certain amount by the Bryan School.
